a sketchy start...

a very raw start... the idea of the creation of suburbs from city, the latter being infiltrated by the first to the extent of forcing the city to exist as a point, blip, singular experience among the suburban sphere

where to begin

The idea of project as process is the basis of all design projects. Without the iterative process of refinement and rethinking, design would be a limited realm of objects. Mateo's description of this seems so simplistic. Is this not how we have approached projects in the past? Is his understanding not the fundamental ideas of a design project? I find myself sitting here still confused about how to approach this project. Mateo speaks of structure and hierarchies, space and void, yet it is not the process that intimidates me. It is the starting point. Now, I understand this point of departure is not the "end all be all" of the project, but with out this platform, this idea or stance on a subject, one cannot move forward. I find myself even as I type this becoming more confused about how to begin this almighty process.

So it is not the process in which my head is entangle, but the starting point of that process. Where does one begin? I think of words like layer and network...connections to and fro. But Mateo seems to inadvertently skirt around this fundamental point in the process. And I still think, "where do i begin?"

Thesis Prep

So it finally begins... a lil lost... and really confused. Just gotta find a starting point!
